What we want to achieve

Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate strategy. We have defined clear sustainability goals in order to make our business model future-proof in the long term and to be as transparent as possible to our stakeholders. In doing so, we consider the topic holistically in three dimensions – environment, economy and social affairs:

Environment

Goal by the end of 06/2031:
By the end of June 2031, we aim to reduce our CO2 emissions in Scopes 1 & 2 by approximately 996 tonnes of CO2. This corresponds to a reduction of 95% of Scope 1 & 2 emissions compared to the base year (base year: 07/2022–06/2023).

The following measures will help us achieve this target:

1. Switching electricity procurement to electricity from renewable energy sources.

2. Installation and commissioning of a photovoltaic system.

3. Installation of energy-efficient electrical consumers (e.g. LEDs, heating pumps).

4. Replacement of our refrigeration systems in combination with the use of heat pumps.

Goal achievement (07/2023–06/2024):
CO2 emissions increased slightly (approx. 4%) during the reporting period.
This increase is due to higher electricity demand.
In addition, the emission reduction measures were still in the preparation phase.

Economy

Goal by the end of 06/2031:
Active customer consulting and the offering of various product certifications (Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, EU Organic and RSPO) are intended to lead to a long-term increase in the use of certified raw materials (base year: 07/2023–06/2024).
The palm oil used is already 100% certified (RSPO SG) and will continue to be used exclusively as a fully certified raw material.
The share of certified cocoa (Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance) amounts to 48% of total cocoa usage in the base year and is to be increased to 75% by the end of June 2031.
In addition, we aim to increase the percentage share of sales of EU Organic certified products, which stands at 9% in the base year. Annual monitoring will track developments in this area.

Goal achievement (07/2024–06/2025):
During the reporting period, we were able to increase the use of certified cocoa (Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance) by 7%, to a total of 55%, through active customer consulting.
The palm oil used remains 100% certified (RSPO SG).
Sales of EU Organic certified products declined slightly to 7%, due to rising raw material prices and, in some cases, limited availability of raw materials on the market.

Social

Goal by the end of 2026:
We place great importance on the health of our employees. Therefore, we aim to increase participation in workplace health promotion measures through target-group-specific offerings from 31% in the base year 2024 to 40% of employees by the end of 2026.

Goal achievement 2025:
In 2025, the participation rate declined to 22%. This decrease is due to the postponement of individual measures to 2026.
In 2026, we plan the following measures to increase participation in workplace health promotion again:

1. Nutrition workshop

2. Workshops on workplace ergonomics

3. Health Day

In addition, greater awareness will be raised of the company’s own fitness studio.
*The targets were updated due to changes in the data basis (01/2026).

We are guided by the UN's SDGs.

We have always supported the sustainability goal of gender equality by working for equal participation and equal opportunities for all employees. We promote full participation in leadership positions and decision-making processes, in particular by supporting women in leadership roles. We guarantee the same right to economic resources, property and financial services by paying gender-independent salaries. In addition, we implement measures to end discrimination against women and girls, in particular through our Code of Conduct and regular supplier surveys, in order to ensure gender equality along the entire value chain.

We drive technological modernisation and innovation, paying particular attention to sustainable management. We achieve this through efficient use of resources and the consideration of social components along our entire value chain. We promote our sustainable, entrepreneurial growth by expanding our business model and creating new jobs. As a company rich in tradition, we offer secure jobs with fair salary structures. We are a training company in various areas, regularly interview our suppliers and have our Code of Conduct confirmed by our suppliers in order to comply with social standards along the value chain.

We align our production and consumption with fundamental principles to reduce waste, save energy and use resources responsibly. We use certified raw materials (Rainforest, RSPO, organic, Fairtrade) and manufacture exclusively for orders. We minimise our ecological footprint through waste separation and recycling as well as the use of reusable containers for goods transport. We support the community by donating to the Osnabrücker Tafel and regional kindergartens. Our suppliers are also evaluated and developed from a sustainability point of view. In addition, we raise awareness among our employees through training on sustainability.
